What are you allowed to bring on the airplane as far as liquids and makeup?

I heard it was 3oz. Its that 3ozs total or 3oz per bottle??What are you allowed to bring on the airplane as far as liquids and makeup?
in the us, you need to put all of your liquids (lipgloss, perfume, toothpaste) from your carry-on bag into a 1 quart ziplock bag. security officials have told me that contact lens solution is exempt, but i still bring the small bottle (4oz not 3 oz) and fit it in the ziplock without any problems. each bottle/tube cannot be more than 3 oz. you can pack other larger liquids in your checked luggage. be sure to put those in large ziplock bags as well since they can spill all over your clothes if the caps aren't secure!What are you allowed to bring on the airplane as far as liquids and makeup?
3 ounce per bottle, and as many as can fit in a zip-lock bag.





They are not as strict as you think though. I brought a 5ounce bottle on the other day. So apparently they are not checkin like crazy.

There is a limit though I can't remember though check tsa.gov
