Does the viscosity of a liquid have something to do with its molecular makeup?

water has a strong hydrogen bonds in its molecular makeup and is not very viscous, while molasses is viscous. I'm guessing that this is because its bonds are more loose?Does the viscosity of a liquid have something to do with its molecular makeup?
it's all about the size of the molecule. molasses has a lot of sugar, which is a more complex molecule then water. if you link the sugars together into a chain of sugars, it gets more viscous. a chain of sugars is a sugar polymer, or a starch.

consider polyethylene, the plastic in sandwich Baggies and trash bags. with short polymer chains it's a thick oily substance. allow it to polymerize some more and it becomes a stretchy solid, a little more and it's a hard but bendy solid. it's all about the size of the molecule.Does the viscosity of a liquid have something to do with its molecular makeup?
Yep. Right on.
yes
you guessed right babe
